Solar inverter logging

New website

21 March 2016

Soon, the new website for Solget will be released.

The new site is build with CMS Made Simple.

Here's a sneak preview.

Solget is the software part of this project.

SolGet is a linux shell script which reads data from a Solar inverter (Soladin 600, and Sunmaster series in future). This data is placed in a database, to create nice graphs, using RRDTool. Besides of power output, also error messages and other values will be read. These values can be used for all kinds of logging purposes.

SolGet will create a CSV file with daily profit values and runtime, a logfile with errors and start/stop time of the inverter, and a database, to create daily, weekly, monthly and yearly graphs.

The complete set of values is used to create a simple webpage, for use on a public or private website.

The reason for using shell script is simple. Readability, and easy to use, and make modifications easily.

Sol-Link is the hardware part of this project.

The Soladin 600 inverter uses a special kind of serial communication. To connect your computer to the soladin, an additional connector is neccessary. I developed such a connector, this is called Sol-Link, and works together with SolGet, and all other Soladin monitoring tools. Sol-Link is linux and windows compatible.

Sol-Link is also suitable for Windmaster 500.
